Arsenal have £50m- Will Wenger get to spend it?

Just imagine what the transfer savvy Arsene Wenger could do with £50 million in January. Hopefully we will get the chance to find out, after last season’s financial results are expected to reveal a profit for the Gunners of around that much. He could go completely mad and spend it all on one world class player, and if so who would it be? Radamel Falcao from Athletico Madrid or Neymar from Santos in Brazil would be nice.

The sale of Fabregas to Barcelona and Nasri to Man City, along with the £25 million earned from the Queensland Road development helped Arsenal to bank around £100 million, The Sun reports. About half of that money will have been spent on running costs, leaving around £50 million. So what will happen to it? Gooners will want to see it all spent, but will also wonder why it was not used in the summer.
We can all see the sense in not living beyond your means, nut to not use the money you have earned to bring success makes no sense. At the AGM next month, chief executive Ivan Gazidis is likely to be under severe pressure to explain what is going on and to reassure us all that Wenger will be getting a sizeable transfer kitty in January.
Assuming he does have some cash to splash, injuries or form may dictate who is brought in to the Emirates in the new year. Lots of fans think that we need a better keeper and everybody thinks we need at least another striker. One area that seems strong enough is the midfield, but it was a defensive midfielder that was reportedly the priority this summer. Maybe Wenger was happy with his midfield options and wants to give the returning players a chance before deciding to invest.
So, Gooners, who do you want? Let your imagination run wild, but remember that Lionel Messi has a buy out clause of 250 million euros in his contract
